The Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. James Joseph Kumi Duodu, led the Presbytery Council to consecrate 19 catechists into the Holy Ministry of the Church. There were two batches of the consecration, Australia group held on the April 9th, and America held on April 11th, 2021, at Wentworthville Congregation-Sydney and Mount Zion Congregation-Worcester, respectively. The two colorful occasions were graced by senior clergymen and a woman with several laities. The chairperson was grateful to the NAAP School coordinator, Rev. Ransford Kwabena Awuku-Gyampoh, for his dedication. He also expressed his gratitude to the facilitators, the Ramseyer Training Director, Rev. G.B. Puplampu, the districts, and the congregation for their support. In a powerful sermon, the Chairperson, Papa Kumi Duodu, exhorted the new Catechists to respect authorities and use their identified Spiritual Gifts to grow their ministries

A portion of his message reads:

To the new Catechists, remember what the Bible said in Acts 13:36, “…David served God’s purpose in his own generation.” (N.I.V.); I encourage you, my fellow brothers, and sisters, to go and serve your Maker in your generation. Be strategic to use your God-given talents to serve your neighbors in and out of your context.

  • Do not play church politics with your calling.
  • Use your time profitably; avoid the temptation of stealing time!
  • Stop comparing your unique ministry with others.
  • Be strategic, patient and do not be afraid to ask for help in achieving your ministry aim.
  • Do not lose sight of the importance of good health, check your health, and live long for God’s usage.

Chairperson Consecrates new catechists.

In June 2019 the General Assembly Council the PCG endorsed the Vision 1.5 document which is a statement for evangelism and Church Growth. The presentation was made Sunday 14th March 2021 during a church service at the Trinity Congregation at Takoradi where the Moderator launched the 2021 Evangelism Week of the PCG.

The Western Presbytery Chairperson Presbytery of the PCG, Rev Ernest Timothy Annor received the motor-bikes on behalf of the Presbytery.

He thanked the Moderator and pledged that the Presbytery would do all it could to increase the percentage of growth of the Presbytery.

Be strategic to use your God-given talents to serve your neighbors in and out of your context.

In two separate addresses by the Catechist representatives, the eight (8) new catechists consecrated in Australia and the eleven (11) in America were grateful to God, the Presbytery, especially the Chairperson, Rev. James Joseph Kumi Duodu, for paying their first-year tuition fee.

They equally expressed profound gratitude to the facilitators and the school coordinator, Rev. R. K. Awuku-Gyampoh, for the support. The consecration of the Catechists into the Holy Ministry was climaxed with certificates presented to all the candidates from Ramesyer Training Centre (R.T.C.).
